Absent Policy:

When a student is absent they have 3 days per day they missed to complete the work according to SMS policy. Any missing work will be located in their classroom folder for them when they return to school.

Late Work Policy:

Homework assignments are due at the beginning of class on the due date after the bell rings. After that they are considered late even if they’re turned in later that day. After 5 days late work will no longer be accepted except for specific situations.

o    1 day late: -10 pts off total grade for the assignment (for example if the student makes a 100% on the assignment, their score will be a 95%)

o    2 days late: -20 pts off

o    3 days late: -30 pts off

o    4 days late: -40 pts off

o    5 days late: -50 pts off

Tardy Policy:

School policy states that after 3 tardies a student receives detention and will continue to earn a detention for each additional tardy. After 2 tardies I will have the child fill out a Tardy Form which will have to be signed by a parent letting them know what’s going on.

Discipline Plan:

Step 1: verbal warning

Step 2: Pull the child aside, discuss the situation

Step 3: Parent contact, referral sent to office, and a consequence

such as detention.

Note: I reserve the right to add or take away steps as needed.
